TowBoatUS has the largest network of towing ports.
When making your decision, keep in mind that…
Commercial towing companies typically operate on a Port-to-Port basis. This means you’re billed from the moment the towboat leaves its homeport until it returns—not from your location. With average rates often exceeding $250 per hour, the key cost factor is how far the towing company is from you, not how close you are to your own dock. So even if you’re boating near home, a tow service located 20 miles away, the costs may be higher than anticipated.
If you’re not a member, soft-ungrounding, freeing a stuck vessel, comes with a per-foot charge. But with an BoatU.S. Towing Membership, this service is fully covered, as long as no specialized equipment or extra towboats are needed to refloat your boat. It’s peace of mind when you need it most.
Blythe Boaters – Our service area extends up to 25 miles from our port at Fisher’s Lagoon, that area is just a couple miles upriver from Chimney Rock. If you’re beyond that range, such as past the outpost campground, near Walters, Ehrenberg, Blythe, etc. the additional cost to leave our service area will need to be covered by you, and we won’t be able to guarantee that river conditions would even allow us to reach you. During the winter months, the stretch between Yuma Wash and the Picacho area becomes extremely shallow and is often unnavigable for prop boats. Boat in Yuma County, it’s safer!
